Key Responsibilities
Assist in resolving field issues reported by Australian utilities, ensuring fast and accurate diagnostics across hardware, firmware, legal metrology, RF communications, and network behavior.
Support the local team in managing day‑to‑day technical topics related to customer operations.
Perform pre‑testing activities to ensure product readiness prior to customer trials or deployments.
Conduct on‑site testing at customer facilities and participate in pilot deployments and large‑scale rollouts.
Oversee and manage the full RMA process, including the creation, tracking, and coordination of RMA cases, collaboration with headquarters, follow‑up on turnaround times, and ensuring proper root‑cause analysis and closure of returned equipment.
Document customer issues and product defects, ensure correct escalation, and track them through to closure.
Provide clear, structured, and regular reporting of activities to internal and external stakeholders.
Suggest improvements to installation procedures, product configuration, and interoperability processes.
Contribute to the global effort to accelerate readiness across the full smart water metering product range.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Profile 
Engineering degree or equivalent experience in electronics, telecommunications, embedded systems, or IoT engineering.
Solid understanding of smart metering systems, embedded electronics, and IoT communication technologies.
Experience with RF communication protocols used in metering environments.
Knowledge of field testing tools, data collection systems, and debugging/logging methodologies.
Ability to troubleshoot system integration issues involving head‑end systems and third‑party platforms.
Experience managing RMA workflows, including tracking, escalation, and technical analysis of returned products.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast‑moving technical environment.
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with customers, internal teams, and partners.
Proactive, autonomous, and capable of handling both routine and complex tasks.
Customer‑focused and results‑oriented.
Experience working with utilities or industrial field deployments is an advantage.
Availability for occasional travel within Australia and internationally.

- Monitor customer acceptance tests (UAT) with system integration and IT engineers
- Structure and follow global action plans until completion
4) Operational &amp; Incident Management
- Coordinate L2/L3 support activities
- Monitor KPIs and incidents together with local and offshore teams
- Ensure proper escalation, tracking and root‑cause analysis (RCA)
- Prepare service delivery reports (internal &amp; customer)
5) Stakeholder Management
- Participate in all customer project meetings
- Provide clear and regular reporting to the customer and Sagemcom top management

The IT Engineer is responsible for the complete functional integration of the solution (software and hardware tools). In doing so, he/she performs the following tasks:

Linux and VMWare knowledge

Working knowledge of JAVA application servers like Springboot is required
